Child of William Wesley Walker and Laura Ann Cryer : A small sandstone marker exists at Zion Hill with the dates 1921-1921 plus the same information is listed in the book, ‘Historic Cemeteries’, repeated in polkhistory.org and probably copied in other cemetery listings. This is incorrect. Records, by the Walker family and a copy of a death certificate all list the birth and death dates in the chart above. All birth dates provided by Dr. Jeane’s records check those from other sources. There is no child born and died 1921. Eye witness, Opal Cryer Blanco, has stated verbally that William Paul Walker was struck by lightning, died and was buried in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Fort Polk, Vernon Ph, LA. William was the last William Wesley Walker child buried at Zion Hill. There are heavily weathered markers for two still born children. Old natural stone at foot
